Columns, Pilasters, Capitals and Bases
During the 16th century, several scholars established a proportional system for the architectural design of entablatures, columns and Pedestals. The five classical orders were named the Tuscan, Doric, Ionic, Corinthian and Composite Orders.

Each column consists of a capital, shaft and base with the shaft portion being either fluted or plain. Complete columns can be provided or any of the single elements to suit your own shaft.

Plaster columns are not intended to be used as structural supports, rather decorative components that can be designed to be stand‐alone or be split to encase a load bearing column.

Pilasters are normally rectangular, but today the same name is often used for a half round column which sits directly to the face of a wall.

Classic's columns are produced in a hard dense gypsum cement formulation to withstand normal wear and tear of traffic areas.

Classic mantels are manufactured with gypsum cement, glass fibers and burlap to provide a natural white surface which can be finished after installation to give the look you require. The product meets zero smoke and zero flame standards.
